Vertiv has launched three new cooling distribution units (CDUs) for liquid-cooled data centers.
The power and cooling technology provider is expanding its CoolChip CDU family with the addition of the CoolChip CDU 70, CoolChip CDU 100 and CoolChip CDU 600 models.
Vertiv said these chip-level direct cooling solutions are designed to meet the needs of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads.
"As workloads continue to push up cabinet heat density and cooling requirements, customers need liquid cooling solutions that can adapt to their unique deployment strategies, whether they are retrofitting existing environments or expanding new data centers," said Sam Bainborough, Vice President of Thermal Management at Vertiv EMEA. "The Vertiv CoolChip CDU series provides a flexible, scalable solution that simplifies deployment and supports long-term growth. By reducing integration complexity and adapting to a variety of data center environments, these CDUs can help organizations scale liquid cooling more efficiently."
The three CDUs offer different cooling capacities: the 70 series is up to 70 kW, the 100 series is up to 100 kW, and the 600 series is for the most advanced workloads, up to 600 kW.
As a core supplier of data centers, Emax has mature solutions for commissioning CDUs of various specifications. For example, multiple 30kW or 10kW rack-mounted liquid cooling load banks can be paralleled. Or a single 500kW liquid cooling load bank is also available for many customers.
The 100 model is an in-rack solution for data centers that want to gradually switch to liquid cooling one rack at a time, while the 70 and 600 models are designed to cool an entire row of racks.
Vertiv says these CDUs can be installed in either retrofit or new build data center environments.
