How to Test Coolant Distribution Unit (CDUs) in Data Center?

The cooling distribution unit (CDU) plays a crucial role in a data center's cooling system. It maintains stable equipment temperatures by conditioning and circulating the coolant. A CDU typically includes components such as heat exchangers, pumps, sensors, and power distribution controls. Sensors in the CDU primarily monitor parameters such as coolant pressure, flow rate, and temperature to ensure proper system operation and efficient cooling. Data from these sensors is fed back to the controller, which adjusts CDU operations accordingly.

As the complexity and importance of the CDU continue to grow, we need to fully test it before it can be put into working.

The Emax 500kW Liquid Load Bank was developed specifically for CDU testing. It's extremely compact and features a high level of intelligent integration. It connects to the CDU via a DN100 flange and can be remotely controlled by a computer. We've received very positive user feedback.
